Your Career. Your Momentum. Your SPCE.

Dear PDC Learner,

We've learned that some recipients have experienced issues accessing the attached Frequently Asked Questions document due to compatibility restrictions within their organization's systems. To make sure everyone has access to this information, we've included the FAQ directly in this email below.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this transition. If you have additional questions that aren't addressed below, please don't hesitate to contact our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I access my courses?

All new and returning students should begin by logging into professional.laverne.edu and creating a new account. This platform allows you to:

  • Register and purchase future courses
  • View your enrollment history
  • Access your purchase history

Next, log into D2L Brightspace by visiting myportal.laverne.edu. Sign in using your University of La Verne credentials, then select D2L Brightspace from the Quick Links panel to confirm that you can successfully access your courses.

2. How do I submit my assignments if I do not see my courses on D2L?

We encourage everyone to log in to the new D2L platform and become familiar with its features. Exploring the platform now will help ensure you're prepared for future coursework and submissions.

If you need coursework graded as soon as possible, please submit your assignments using the submission form below. This process allows the PDC team to prioritize grading while you continue to familiarize yourself with D2L.

Submission Instructions

  1. Complete one submission form for each course you are registered for.
  2. If you are enrolled in multiple courses, submit a separate submission form for each course.
  3. Upload your completed assignment(s)(up to five (5) assignments per form) in the designated upload section.
  4. Submit the form.
  5. Once your form is received, the PDC team will process and grade your coursework as quickly as possible.

3. I cannot remember my University of La Verne email and password.

Please follow the instructions to log into your MyLaVerne Portal, get your student ID, and reset your password.

4. I saved my assignments in pdcourses.net. Will I still have access to them for grading?

We are in the process of migrating coursework from pdcourses.net to D2L Brightspace. During this transition, your previously saved work is being preserved and reviewed as part of the migration process. Additional information will be shared as the migration progresses.

5. I don't see my course on D2L Brightspace. What should I do?

If your course is not visible in D2L Brightspace, please contact the Professional Development Center at lavernepdc@laverne.edu for assistance.

6. Did I lose my previous coursework from pdcourses.net?

No. The Professional Development Center has records of your completed and in-progress coursework.

Completed courses and final grades are also available on your unofficial transcript in myportal.laverne.edu. Log in using your University of La Verne credentials to access your transcript.

7. I submitted my course yesterday. When will it be graded?

Courses are typically graded within 2–3 business days after submission.

8. How do I view my unofficial transcript?

To view your unofficial transcript:

  1. Log in to myportal.laverne.edu using your University of La Verne credentials (for example, jane.doe@laverne.edu).
  2. Go to La Verne Portal.
  3. Click Upgraded MyLaVerne under Quicklinks.
  4. Under the Registrar list, click on View Unofficial Transcript.
  5. From the Transcript Level drop down, select All Levels.
  6. From the Transcript Type drop down, select Unofficial Transcript.
  7. Click Submit.

9. Do we get confirmation once we submit our coursework in D2L or by Assignment Submission Form?

Yes, both D2L and the Assignment Submissions form will show a submission confirmation once the document has been successfully submitted.

10. How do I view my grades once my course is submitted?  How long does it take to post on my transcript?

Once all required steps in the course completion process have been fulfilled, grades are processed and then posted to your transcript. Processing times may vary depending on submission volume and administrative review. If you do not see your grade reflected on your transcript after a reasonable processing period, please contact the PDC team for assistance at lavernepdc@laverne.edu.

11. I need my courses completed and graded as soon as possible for a salary increase within 1-2 two weeks.

The PDC team recognizes the importance of this deadline and is working diligently to process coursework and finalize grades as quickly as possible.

Sincerely,

Professional Development Courses Team
